War Horseman Scourge Event
Greetings Commanders,
That's not the hum of a Helicarrier you hear in the distance – it's drums forewarning the impending arrival of the War Horseman Scourge Event! Your first chance to recruit Red Hulk, Apocalypse's third Horseman, starts on September 20th at 2:00PM (PDT) for Commanders Level 50 and above.
You can unlock a 3-Yellow Star Red Hulk during the event through the milestone rewards with a Run Score of 500k points. If you fall short of that mark, you can still unlock Red Hulk with a Run Score of 425k points and by earning additional character shards through the Rank Rewards, which are delivered at the conclusion of the event. These rewards can be earned again in subsequent runs of the same Scourge Event, so you’ll have more opportunities in the future to get Red Hulk all the way up to 7 Yellow Stars.
Nodes 5 and 10 for Difficulty 5+ will require Hero Asgardian, Ravager, and/or Wave I - Avenger, so make sure these teams are powered up to prepare for the challenge.
This first run of the War Scourge Event will feature bonus rewards, so bring your A-game to this first run to maximize your return.
Run Scores
During this limited-time Scourge Event, clear up to 10 nodes in a Difficulty and earn the most points possible toward your Run Score. You'll have unlimited Run Score attempts and a Run can be canceled and restarted at any time with no penalty, so attempt multiple runs to get the highest score possible.
Difficulties & Scourges
Customize your runs by selecting a difficulty from 1-10. Higher Run Difficulties will narrow the character traits you can use, but they'll reward more points. You can also earn additional points by activating Scourges, which either bolster enemy teams, hinder your own, or both. Keep in mind that nodes 5 and 10 for Difficulties 5 and above will require specific characters to fully complete them. Also note that the highest difficulties are not necessarily intended to be fully completed yet, so don’t worry too much if you can’t get to or complete Difficulty 8+ in the first run of the event.
The War Scourge Event will see an update to the Scourges – with 12 Scourges being removed and 13 Scourges being added (compared to the Famine Scourge). Here are the Scourges being removed: Devil's Bargain II, Poisoned Energy II, The End is Near, Speed Boost, Going Rogue, Power Syphon II, Gloves Off, Dark Resolve I, Bleeder I (previously called "Bleeder"), Pyrrhic Victory I (previously called Pyrrhic Victory), Vile Resurgence, Experimental Serum II.

Score & Point Updates for Difficulties 8, 9, and 10
The War Scourge Event will see an update to the points earned for Difficulties 8, 9, and 10 that's meant to emphasize the puzzle aspect of Scourges while rewarding players for building a challenging stack of Scourges that deliver the greatest amount of points.
The baseline Run Score you can earn at these difficulties has been flattened, while the amount of Run Score points you receive for each Scourge has been dramatically increased. This means that if you want to achieve a higher Run Score than a player who completed their run on Difficulty 8, for example, you won't be able to beat that score on Difficulty 9 unless you activate a similar number of Scourges. For Difficulties 9 and 10, the Scourge Cards you activate will matter a great deal, in terms of points earned.
Red Stars for Horsemen
Red Stars for Horsemen can be obtained in the following ways:
- Rank Rewards
- Dark Promotion Credits - (After the first event) which will be available in a dedicated slot in the Elite Store (unlocked at Commander Level 42) that exclusively features the Horsemen characters.
Red Star Promotions for Red Hulk and other Horsemen will not be available via Red Star Orbs or the Elite Orbs.
Web of Life
Crawling your way on September 23th at 2:00PM (PDT) with an opportunity to recruit MARVEL Strike Force's third original character, Spider-Weaver, is the Web of Life Event Campaign. Join Spider-Weaver, Spider-Man 2099, and Spider-Man (Noir) as they attempt to untangle the Web of Life and Destiny. You can earn Teal Gear on the Heroic Difficulty and completing the Heroic Difficulty automatically earns First-Time Rewards for both the Hard and Heroic Difficulties. You'll need at least five characters with the limited-time "Vigilant" trait to attempt the Heroic Difficulty, so filter your roster by "Vigilant" and power up these characters for a chance at Heroics. There will also be a Hulk Hunter Event running in parallel during a portion of the Event Campaign, which we'll cover in the below section.
